My favorite local spot in Maple Ridge, is Whonnock Lake. Located near Dewdney Trunk Rd. and 272nd st, Whonnock is a calm, warm, and beautiful lake. Its typically very quiet. There are no motorized boats allowed on the lake and only a couple of houses actually have waterfront. You'll be able to enjoy the lillypads and even check out the a few beavers! When you enter the parking lot, keep to the far left. There is a great little spot where you can park right beside the water. It's basically a boat launch for canoes and kayaks. This means you won't have to carry your board more than a few feet. Locals might recognize Whonnock from pictures on our website. Lots of our product photo-shoots are done there.
